We hope that your celebrations of the New Year and Dr. Martin Luther King Day have opened the door to new resolutions for a future where we are all nourished and thriving. We live in times of change and through it all, we continue to serve our collective vision. This blog/newsletter highlights opportunities to build on our momentum for 2020.


 

Upcoming Events + Opportunities

 

Grow a Garden – seeds, seedlings & know-how. The deadline to apply is January 31st.

DUG’s Grow a Garden is a food access program that connects individuals, families, seniors, and groups to the necessary seeds, seedlings, and education to grow a thriving vegetable garden.



How do I participate?

Seeds will be distributed to distribution centers the week of March 9th, 2020.

Seedlings will be distributed to distribution centers the week of May 11th, 2020.

📷Hecho con Amor shopping event celebrates the romance that artisans put into their work. Each piece is masterfully crafted and embedded with history passed down for generations. Every mark, chisel, thread, and stamp ignites an appreciation from their hands to yours. Help keep culture alive and thriving by supporting artisan communities throughout Latin America.

You can schedule an appointment to visit Hijos del Sol with Adrianna at 720-353-2233.Somali Cooking Class with Chef Hamida February 13th, 2020 Only 4 spots left!📷Details: Join us for Sun Valley Kitchen + Community Center's Cultural Cooking Series and learn to cook traditional Somali dishes with the Kitchen's dear friend and line cook, Chef Hamida.

The class will go from 6-8pm at Sun Valley Kitchen, with food prep + instruction from 6-7:30pm and enjoying the prepared meal from 7:30-8pm.

There is a $30 fee per person for the class, which includes dinner + beverages.

To register for the class, please email sunvalleykitchen@gmail.com and you can make a $30 donation via the website (please include a note that your donation is for the 2/13 cooking class) --
